Guoqing Liu, a native of Heze, Shandong Province, graduated from Binzhou Medical
University. His research focuses on the growth and regeneration capabilities of
salamanders. These animals possess extraordinary regenerative abilities, capable of
regrowing various tissues and organs—including limbs, tails, hearts, spinal cords,
and even parts of their brains—without forming scars. This feature makes them an
ideal model for studying wound healing and regenerative medicine. Our laboratory is
devoted to uncovering the molecular mechanisms, cellular processes, and regulatory
networks underlying their regeneration, with the goal of providing insights for
developing novel treatments for humans.
